31 July 2010 : Laguna Merbok Cars Fire

A wake up call for my sweet dream by around 6am, call is telling : " Bomba Semeling standby, standby, a report said there is house fire at Laguna Merbok". "Oh god, it is house fire" in my mind. Get all my gears then run to out off the house like usual in messy way. While reach the meeting spot, not even got time to suit up my uniform until get into the truck and change in the middle of way.

Kind of nervous because we might be the first team reach there, however, while we are there, government FRD already there and get the fire out. And it's just burnt the vehicles in front of the house and little affect at front.  So we just check out a while before leave for early breakfast.

20 July 2010: Dongwha Fibreboard Factory Fire

As I could remember, I was fall asleep by 8am something. But by 10am, there is waking call yelling : "Semeling Bomba!! Semeling Bomba!!" I'm awake and wonder what had happen then I made a call to my capt but so nice my hand phone is broken again. Can't do anything until further information told that "Merbok fibreboard factory on fire!!" Hmm... I was just "Shit" cause I just been slept less than 2 hrs. It gonna be sucks.

I missed the ride of fire truck so gotta get there by my olskol. Get the hazard signal on then push it all the way. In the middle the smoke can be seen but seems not really serious. When I get there, the guard informed me that my team and Merbok VFD are reached but I can't get my car inside. So I decided to wait for SP VFD, but I change my mind after the SP FD reached with their Mercedes Trucks. I walk inside and it damn far.

While I reach the scene, my team are doing the job. My capt yell on me: "Get your helmet and jacket and up here". It's about two storey height, I asked my teammate where to get up, and he pointed a ladder and said :"Here" Hmm... In my mind was :"Cool but shit" It's a 90 degree up typical factory ladder and I have to climb it with my heavy boots, jacket and helmet. But when reach the top it was pretty cool cause the scene. Haha. I was assigned to assist my teammate who doing the dangerous job. I have to help to hold the heavy hose for him. It is two storey high, mistake can lead to fall to the ground. It almost due to unstable of water pressure and so luckily is not. When there is not sufficient of water then we get down for ground "battle".

My teammate pass the nozzle to me and tell me:" It's time for you to have fun". Hell not, is a tired job rather than fun. Some more the dusk is damn heavy and make my cough worst but luckily the factory staff take us face mask after . But I took it cause he had it for quite long time already. I take it till I'm exhausted and ask for substitution. It takes 2 hrs plus to complete the mission, it's tough but a nice experience. There was several small flash-over.

16 July 2010: Simpang Empat, Kedah Shophouses On Fire

It's a late night after had coffee session with my coffee kaki, then change table to with my fire team teammates at our favorite malay stall called Panjang (since 7 years ago). While we talking about fire stuff, my friend walkie-talkie on call, "Simpang Empat house fire, just started". We are thinking which Simpang Empat since there is few places called the same name. When VFD of Guar Cempedak being asked for support then I run home to take my PPE then run to our new fire station. Few members was there already.

Since there is quite far from us, then I make a call to our captain for the permission. He approved and at the same time they reporting the fire is big one and support needed. Then we departed. It takes us about 35 mins to reach the fire scene. When we reach there we can see a lot of fire trucks there and few on their ways. After 15 mins being there, the fire was under-controlled. Then we collect our hoses and pumps.

Just after the pump located correctly on the trucks, there is another call of fire which happen at Sg Lalang. Oh God!! After throw (they really throw due to rush) all hoses on trucks, we departed again immediately together with few fire trucks which belong VFD from Central Kedah. When almost reach, VFD which already there told the fire is covered and not a big deal, just cable burnt. Then we stop at roadside for out supper before heading home.

28 June 2010: Bakar Arang Light Industry Factory Fire

I was slept quite early tonight by 12am, but end up awake at 2.15am. Due to hungry I guess. Then I took my dad oldskool to a malay stall searching for any foods. When I reached there, I found that a teammate was there alone and watching the FIFA World Cup 2010. Yup, Argentina Vs Mexico that night. I ordered a Milo panas then get a seat with him.

After 20 mins non of score yet, but my PTT device is calling, and is Bomba Kedah channel. Somewhere must be on fire. And that time Argentina scored the first goal. I'm not sure then I reconfirm the location and they replied: " Wood factory behind the Bakar Arang Longwan on fire, and was reported is huge one". We quickly paid the pay bill, call all teammate to standby through our team channel, call my asst capt then run to the fire engine. Once get enough teammate we get depart.

While after couple KMs after get in to Western Bypass, I can see the black smoke already, but not sure. When getting nearer, and it's confirm is a big and long one. Once reached there, we got the hydrant. When I run to the scene, I just Oh God, it just beside where I previously work, a luxury car workshop. After I run back to the engine get something and back to the scene again the fire is crossing, I thought that workshop belong to my friend, Jackson (ex-boss) is gone until a friend, Thomas came in corrected me that Jackson's one is beside and alright.

When the fire was controlled, then I walk to there. His shop is not affected and his beemers are alright as well. I told him "U are damn lucky, cause the fire can be stopped. " After all, me, my team, and other friend teams headed to Nasi Kandar for a refresh drink till 5am. It was a exhausted and "stim" night since so long never had such operation.

17 June 2010: Taman Kuala Muda Resident House Fire

By the evening, I was lying on the bed, then the CRSM walkie-talkie is calling: "601 calling 620, 610 calling 620, there is report of fire in Taman Kuala Muda, and MB Bomba please responding". Maybe been so long didn't out for duty, I'm so nervous until forgot get my cloth out. When up on the fire engine, I just use the fire jacket to cover me. XD

The siren is blowing all the way. But when we reach there, the fire had been covered by government FD. So we not doing anything. The house almost totally destroyed, and its only one affected. Luckily there is no injury or dead. Kind of pity the residents, crying non-stop. After sometime, then we move back.
